The Lodge on Loch Goil Wedding – Leanne and Jonathan
Back at the start of May Scotland was having its sunshine quota for the year and I was incredibly happy to find myself travelling north of Glasgow to photograph a Lodge on Loch Goil wedding. I have photographed many weddings at the Lodge on Loch Goil and I have enjoyed every single one of them. It is such a perfect place for wedding photography – a secluded private loch side lodge, beautiful gardens and a large treehouse – what more could you ask for?
Leanne and Jonathan are both from Britain but now live and work in Australia (obviously they brought some of the weather over with them) and had a very small and intimate wedding of just 11 people, including themselves. As the years go by I am asked to photograph more and more small weddings and elopements and, to be honest, I love that! They are always very relaxed and, without the pressures of organising a large wedding for 100 guests, the bride and groom can focus on enjoying themselves more. Leanne and Jonathan certainly had a great time – Jonathan and his best man prepared themselves in the lochside boat house whilst Leanne was upstairs getting ready with her friends. When everyone was good to go we all made our way up the stairs to the amazing treehouse for a wedding ceremony itself. I can’t think of anywhere more romantic for a wedding ceremony than a treehouse overlooking a loch in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland – amazing. When the ceremony had finished everyone got to spend the afternoon outside on the terrace enjoying canapés and soaking up the surroundings.
