Natural Elopement and Wedding Photography in Scotland’s Wild Landscapes

For over 20 years, I’ve been photographing weddings and elopements across Scotland — from wild, windswept mountains to quiet city streets. What I love most is creating natural, story-driven images that let couples relive the real feeling of their day.

I specialise in wilderness adventure elopements — hiking into the Highlands, saying vows on remote beaches, or celebrating beneath dramatic skies on the Isle of Skye. But not every elopement needs hiking boots; I also capture small, intimate city weddings in Edinburgh and Glasgow, or cosy gatherings in hidden corners of Scotland.

My approach is relaxed, unposed, and focused on connection. You’ll spend the day enjoying yourselves while I document it all with a natural style that blends people, moments, and Scotland’s breathtaking landscapes. I really enjoy helping people who are not always comfortable in front of the camera to enjoy their day and still have a beautiful record of it all.

So what is documentary wedding and elopement photography?

I’m a documentary style wedding and elopement photographer, capturing your day as it really unfolds—natural, honest, and full of emotion. No stiff poses or too many staged photographs, just the real story of your wedding, told with sensitivity and care. If you’re camera-shy, don’t worry—I’m discreet, relaxed, and always focused on making you feel comfortable. I’ll also make time for a few portraits and family group shots if you’d like, and I have a bit of an obsession with our incredible Scottish landscape so I always try to include as much of it as I can in your photographs.

Every wedding is unique, and that’s exactly how I photograph it.

A Little Bit About Me

I’m Trevor, the photographer behind Silver Photography. My journey started back in 1999 when I married my wife Fiona. Inspired by our own wedding photos, I left my job to pursue my passion for photography and have since photographed over 1000 weddings and elopements!

I’ve always preferred documentary-style photography for its authenticity and more relaxed style and found this also really suited the growing trend of elopements. Now, alongside photographing larger weddings, I specialise in intimate, adventurous elopements in the stunning landscapes of Scotland.

We feel so lucky to have come across Trevor to capture our intimate wedding in Arisaig. I fell in love with Trevor’s photo style while looking at his previous work and decided he was the photographer for us! From our very first contact, Trevor couldn’t have been more helpful, from answering questions to giving advice, personal recommendations and even agreeing to be our witness. Fast forward to the day and Trevor exceeded all our expectations. To start with he is such a genuinely lovely man, who we got on incredibly well with which makes a massive difference when it was such a small ceremony. Trevor was so patient with our 1 year old and he made us feel completely at ease, we all had a giggle throughout the day, everything was so natural and it was just how we envisioned our day. We recently had our own photos back and just WOW – they are all incredible, we have had so many compliments about them. Trevor has this amazing talent of just being in the moment and has captured so many pictures that we didn’t even know he was taking. He captured our wedding perfectly and we honestly couldn’t have asked for anyone better! We would recommend Trevor to anyone and everyone!
