Elopement Wedding Photographs Woodside Lodge on Loch Goil
Chloe and James’ Elopement Wedding Photographs at Woodside Lodge on Loch Goil
I’ve been capturing wedding photographs at the Woodside Lodge on Loch Goil, in the beautiful Argyll region of Scotland, for just about as long as there have been weddings there to photograph and I still get as excited to see it in its stunning location now as I first did all those years ago.
It is as close to being perfect as any venue I have ever been to and I was over the moon to be asked to photograph James and Chloe’s tiny wedding there at the end of June. I am a big fan of little, intimate weddings and they didn’t come much smaller, or romantic, than this. It was actually twice as big as originally planned as, up until a few days beforehand, it was just going to be the bride and groom. However, as a little surprise Chloe arranged for James’ best friend and his wife to come along as well making a total of four guests, and me.
As a reportage wedding photographer smaller weddings, such as this one, appeal especially to me because I can really focus on the most important parts of the day and can work away quite happily without any of the added pressure of trying to capture photographs of hundreds of guests and all the other distractions that full-size weddings can throw my way. Don’t get me wrong, this year like any other I have happily photographed weddings with 200+ guests and had a great day but small elopements are so much fun to photograph that it doesn’t even seem like work to me. As a wedding photographer at the Lodge on Loch Goil photographing an intimate wedding it’s like all my Christmases have come at once. The private venue is positioned right on the shores of Loch Goil itself and has a large treehouse which can be used for smaller ceremonies and even dinner, as was the case today. Simply taking a walk around the grounds opens up a huge array of great spots for wedding photography and the only limiting factor is really just time. Rather than ramble on any further I’ll let the photographs speak for themselves.
James and Chloe are two of the nicest people I’ve ever met and, although very small, their wedding had plenty to emotional moments for me to capture. Thank you again James and Chloe for asking me to photograph your wedding for you and for letting me add your beautiful wedding to my blog.
