Wedding at Rowallan Castle – Siobhan and Kevin

Right from the beginning the focus of Siobhan and Kevin’s summer wedding at Rowallan Castle was their pug Dexter and his little bow-tie. Sure, there was a bit of love and romance, a castle and plenty of sunshine and selfies but really it was about Dexter. And his bow tie. He even has his own Instagram page that has way more followers than my own dog Chip, or even myself for that matter.

I’d been to Rowallan castle before for a wedding and instantly fell in love with it as a venue. It’s a large castle set in its own grounds in a quiet bit of Ayrshire in Scotland and there’s just something about the way that the rooms catch the light that I love for photography. It was a beautiful day so Siobhan and Kevin had their ceremony outside on the large terrace overlooking the green fields and surrounding woodlands. After the ceremony Dexter arrived with his minder and we all jumped into my car for the short drive to the other end of the estate where there is another, much older, Rowallan Castle complete with a little stream and a nice bridge. Dexter is pretty hefty for a pug and put my photographing-whilst-dog-handling skills to the test but we still managed to get some nice shots before heading back to the castle for the rest of the wedding reception.

Kevin and Siobhan’s wedding was a really fun and enjoyable wedding to photograph – everybody was just so lovely! – and I can’t wait to get back and photograph another wedding at Rowallan castle. Thanks for letting me share your photographs Siobhan and Kevin!
