Crail Town Hall Wedding – Simon and Fiona

Crail Town Hall Wedding – Simon and Fiona

Simon and Fiona had freshly made pizza for dinner at their Crail Town Hall wedding. Do I need to write anything else?

Exactly five years ago to the very day I photographed my first ever Crail town hall wedding (you can have a look at Agnes and Max’s Crail House wedding here) and had wanted to come back and do it again ever since. The seaside fishing village of Crail, nestled in the Neuk of Fife, is a beautiful spot to get married. The quaint village and harbour are ancient and offer so many wonderful backdrops for photographs and on a sunny day such as the one we had at the start of August it was just brilliant.

Simon and Fiona had put a huge amount of effort into making the Crail town hall look absolutely spectacular with bunting, loads of flowers and so many wee touches here and there. It made such a refreshing change for me, working in a cozy personal location, having just photographed a few big weddings in some more mainstream hotels recently. The entire wedding day was in the halls and this started with a beautifully composed ceremony performed by Humanist celebrant Lara Celini from the Humanist Society Scotland. Then, after some impromptu confetti throwing on the front steps Fiona and Simon walked the short distance down to the harbour for a few photographs. After a few family photographs in the lovely gardens opposite the town hall it was back inside for pizza!

Simon and Fiona had organised a pizza van from Fallones Pizzas to park out the back and basically bake over 70 pizzas, of many different types, in their wood-fired pizza oven. The best part of all was that I got to choose my own pizza topping for my own dinner – I picked the Sofia – chicken, maple-bacon, Italian mozzarella, blue cheese and rosemary. Getting any food at a wedding is great but getting pizza was just the best. It makes me hungry even writing about it…

I certainly enjoyed photographing this Crail town hall wedding just as much as the last and I cannot wait to go back again for the next one!

Fiona and Simon left me a really kind review on Facebook too:

“Trevor took the pictures at our wedding in Crail. We couldn’t recommend him enough, the photos are beautiful and capture all the moments perfectly. Trevor was friendly throughout and got on well with the guests and made everyone feel relaxed in his presence. He was really quick to respond to any questions we had, and he was able to give us good advice on the day when we needed it. He even carried my trainers to the venue in case I needed them for cobbles!”

If you’d like to see a more recent wedding in Crail why not take a look at Mairi and Scott’s Cow Shed wedding?
