Signet Library Wedding in Edinburgh – Dominic and Kirsten
2017 has been a great year for me for winter weddings. I have been out photographing almost every weekend right through October and November and I have weddings to photograph every single weekend in December too, right up to the 23rd! For the majority of those weddings the weather has been great and that was certainly the case for Dominic and Kirsten’s Signet Library wedding in Edinburgh in November. Kirsten and her family and bridesmaids had all their hair and makeup done in the Radisson Royal Mile Hotel just across the road. Their suite was on a high floor and had some of the best views across the Royal Mile that I’ve ever seen. The room was also decorated with a large collection of art produced by many of my own friends so it was like a home from home for me.
After slipping through the crowds of tourists incognito to avoid too many photograph requests Kirsten and her team made it to the Signet Library to finish getting dressed – this was perfect for me as I could then flit between grabbing some shots of that but also capturing some of the guests, and Dominic himself, arriving at the venue. After a lovely humanist ceremony performed by Moira Heatly we squeezed everybody onto the grand staircase in the library for a group photograph of everyone before popping outside for a few chilly family photographs and some nice pictures under the archways between the library and the court buildings.
It was great wedding to photograph and I enjoyed being back through photographing a wedding in Edinburgh again!
