Isle of Skye Wedding Film

Isle of Skye Wedding Film.

Back in September I photographed a beautiful wedding on the Isle of Skye. Catherine and Dominic had decided to travel north with their dogs and Catherine’s parents to the stunning scenery of Scotland for their elopement at the Quiraing near the small village of Staffin. I have already written a blog post about their wonderful day but this time I wanted to do something a little bit different and make an Isle of Skye wedding film.

When I am photographing weddings and elopements I am, obviously, always making still photographs but I often notice that there are some things that would possibly be better recorded as a moving image – the clouds moving over the mountains at the start of this film for example. Knowing that my Skye trip was on the horizon I got to grips with the impressive video capabilities of my trusty Fujifilm X-T2 camera, purchased a shake-reducing gimbal, and was all set for the wedding. I have put together a little film; nothing too long, just 2 and a half minutes of my favourite photographs combined with a few short video clips that I made that day. I wanted it to be a little insight into my day recording the wedding rather than just a bunch of wedding photographs.

I really enjoyed making it and I definitely think I will start to do this for more weddings in the future. I’d love to hear your feedback – follow me on Instagram and send me a message 🙂
