Culzean Castle Wedding Photographs – Colin and Ilze

Culzean Castle Wedding – Colin and Ilze

Just last week I was given the exciting opportunity to return to one of my all-time favourite venues and shoot some more Culzean Castle wedding photographs, this time for the lovely Ilze and Colin and their young daughter Amelia. The weather was looking a wee bit murky when I arrived but the grey skies soon cleared and the rest of the afternoon was bathed in gorgeous spring sunshine allowing clear views right over the sea to the isle of Arran. This Culzean Castle wedding was just about as small as a wedding could be with just the bride and groom and their 2 year old daughter Amelia who, typically, couldn’t really decide whether she wanted to have photographs taken or not. Fortunately the multi-talented Danielle, one of the wedding planners at the castle, was on hand to occupy little Amelia for the whole afternoon and did an excellent job.

Ilze and Colin had their wedding ceremony in the beautiful Camellia house, just a short walk away from the main castle. After that we all jumped into their little buggy and moved around the extensive grounds taking some scenic photographs along way. It was the first time I’d been into the newly renovated Orangery and, I have to say, it is a fantastic location for photography and would be brilliant if it was raining. I’m going back again next week so I’ll look forward to paying it another visit!
