Culzean Castle Wedding – Joanna and Nathan
It had been a couple of years since I’d had the opportunity to photograph a Culzean Castle Wedding and then I managed to get to work there twice in just a couple of months. Like Sarah and Mike’s wedding the weather wasn’t exactly ideal but there were a few bright spells and it just added to the Scottish atmosphere.
I’d already met Nathan and Joanna in the summer when they came up to Glasgow for a pre-wedding shoot in the sunshine at the House for Art Lover (itself a very popular wedding venue – you can see a wedding I shot there recently here). We had a great time that day and I knew that their Culzean Castle wedding would be a fun day. I was supposed to be photographing Nathan getting ready as well as Joanna and arrived a few hours before the ceremony to capture that. However, Nathan was so keen to get married that he was completely ready, over 2 hours before the ceremony was due to start. Whilst Joanna was getting her beautiful Temperley Bridal dress on in the Eisenhower all the guests were enjoying pre-ceremony cocktails in a different part of the castle at the ‘groom’s reception’ – a brilliant idea I thought. Normally the groom and guests are just hanging about not knowing what to do. We then all made our way over to the wonderful Camellia house for the ceremony and a few photographs before returning back to the castle for the rest of the day.
It was such a great day – I loved the interesting outfits and the laid-back atmosphere and the science-themed table decorations were amazing! I’d like to thank Joanna and Nathan for asking me to photograph their Culzean Castle Wedding and letting me use the photographs on my blog.
