Springkell Wedding Photographs – Alexandra and David
I’ve been down to Springkell to photograph a wedding several times in the past. I think I photographed one of the very first weddings there in fact, back in 2013. Despite this I still love it and get excited about capturing more Springkell Wedding Photographs each time I go there. I have another wedding booked there for March next year and I am already excited.
Why do I like it? Probably because the owner, James, makes a Herculean effort to maintain and run his house impeccably well. There is never an empty bottle in the background of a photograph or a badly kept garden spoiling images – I could shoot a photograph anywhere, inside or out, and the backdrop will be beautiful. I was particularly pleased for Alex and David’s wedding today because they had already said during our pre-wedding consultation that they were keen to try and capture something of the surrounding grounds and had brought wellington boots along for the walk – I wish more people would do that.
Immediately after the ceremony in the wedding room we captured a picture of every single guest on the back steps and then the three of us spent just a few minutes walking around the large grounds surrounding the house. Neither Alex nor David were particularly comfortable in front of the camera but we still managed to make some nice images that included the house and the autumnal foliage on the trees. After that I spent the rest of the day free to capture all the guests enjoying themselves, making the most of the rocking horse in the hallway…
Thanks Alex and David for letting me add your wedding to my website – I really appreciate it!
